Welcome! Here you can read about the happenings of Kathy, Niall & Branduff McAllister. We currently live in Fetcham, England, a small village in the Surrey countryside, not too far from London. Dear hubby and son take no responsibility for the contents below, which are purely my ramblings. I'm sure they sometimes hide their heads at some of the things I share or say! But I know you all enjoy the gossip :-). As a teawife, it is my duty to watch and listen and be a supportive friend, and a loving mum and wife. I should post more often, but sticking my nose into everyone's business keeps me busy! Kathy the teawife

Snow in Fetcham, England

On Monday, 5 January, we woke to fields covered in snow near our home in Fetcham, Surrey. The snow continued through the day, and was heavy at some points. The birds were frantically trying to fill up on seeds to keep up their energy levels. However, when the snow was heavy, only the woodpecker was brave enough to come to the feeder. Here is a Greater Spotted Woodpecker munching on the energy suet in our back garden.

Love the woodpecker video! and the dramatic music Kathryn. and the holiday themed background. We have a woodpecker in our area, but I usually can only hear him rather than see him. Not sure where he nests. BTW, Happy Birthday!

Great Post! We have woodpeckers too, but I am jealous on the snow part!!! Haven't seen any yet this year :-(

Had a great visit in Castroville over Christmas and I intended to look up your parents, but my time was consumed with family stuff and genealogy!

The woodpecker video is great. I often wish I could catch the birds in my yard on video. I also like your background on the sight.
Happy, happy birthday!
