Welcome! Here you can read about the happenings of Kathy, Niall & Branduff McAllister. We currently live in Fetcham, England, a small village in the Surrey countryside, not too far from London. Dear hubby and son take no responsibility for the contents below, which are purely my ramblings. I'm sure they sometimes hide their heads at some of the things I share or say! But I know you all enjoy the gossip :-). As a teawife, it is my duty to watch and listen and be a supportive friend, and a loving mum and wife. I should post more often, but sticking my nose into everyone's business keeps me busy! Kathy the teawife

Magical Mystery Tour

I decided to take a little adventure to find a craft store -- Crafts U Love -- which is located not too far from Gatwick Airport.

I was planning to go to the hairdressers in Dorking in the morning, and the craft store was supposed to be an additional 15-20 minutes down the road. I decided to try out my navigational system that Niall bought me in January for my birthday. Well, 1 hour and fifteen minutes later, I finally pulled into the craft shop! The navigational system had me turning on non-existent roads and going down lanes that were well out of the way.

On top of all that, I had accidentally depleted the battery in my mobile, and I couldn't call the craft shop for directions! Arggggh!!

The navigational thingy couldn't figure out exactly where I needed to go; a problem with these devices. So I reset it to the closest town to the shop, Charlwood. I finally stopped in Charlwood at a really lovely kitchen design store and asked for directions. The shop had wonderful wicker baskets, teapots and kitchen essentials, so naturally, I had to stop and browse for a while. After all, I am completely addicted to collecting tea mugs, and I found some lovely Dunoon bone china mugs called Waverly, by Jenny Matthews, with soft floral motifs featuring irises and roses.

The real life person in the kitchen shop -- not my navigational device -- eventually led the way to the craft store.

I mainly went to Crafts U Love because I was on the hunt for some Copic markers, alcohol based markers that are all the rage right now in paper crafting and rubber stamping. I've attached the cards I made trying out my brand new Copic markers; I definitely like them!

For such a small store, there were five ladies bustling around like crazy! I'm guessing they have a pretty successful online business because I was the only customer in on that day. Although, I know such stores are always busy on the weekends.

As my home address is plugged into the navigational device, it knew exactly how to get home! The return trip only took 25 minutes.

When I got home, I was shattered . . . still had to go and do the school run! Whew. What a day. Although, it was great therapy to force myself to get out of the house, experiment with the navigational tool, and go somewhere brand new.

And, I got my Copic markers!
