Gardening in Texas

Let's face it . . . the weather sure gets hot in Texas. These are not the ideal conditions for gardening. However, we have a long growing season, if you can find heat-tolerant plants. The first year, I didn't plant much, with the exception of jalapeno peppers, habaneros, tomatoes and a handful of florals like vincas, zenias, impatiens. Our second year, I was more adventurous and planted many florals from seed by simply cultivating the earth and scattering seeds into the soil. This was so successful! I also planted some flats of florals. Here are some pictures from this spring and summer garden.
