Snow blankets Keepers Cottage, Dec. 28-30, 2000

Who's the kid? Silly Niall shows Branduff how to slide on ice.

Five-year-old Branduff enjoys snow for the first time. He's converted his plastic lawnmower to a snow plow!

Nearly 14-year-old Findabair, our border collie, feels right at home in the snow, thank you very much!

The archway leading to the second part of the garden is covered in an interesting dusting of snow. The landscape looks completely different than the colorful and bright flower-laden summer garden below.

The ponies look right at home with their long coats and hooves covered in thick bushy hair. Our neighbor Pam has these ponies in the field in back of our house.

The snow was only about an inch deep, but it was more snow than Surrey usually sees in December. Niall's father near Belfast was almost snowed in with more than a foot of snow and frigidly cold temperatures.

A pink cyclamen attempts to withstand the blanket of snow.

Keepers Cottage at right looks very wintery with a covering of snow, barren trees, and lack of greenery.

At left, Fair Lane, which passes in front of our house, is a treacherous, slick and icy mess. Above, Findabair sniffs around for anything interesting in the snow. He's probably catching a scent of the fox that passed through the garden earlier.
